Terms of service
These terms govern your use of Echo while the product is in private beta. They will be replaced by a legally-reviewed agreement before general availability. Nothing here is legal advice.
Who can use Echo
Echo is a clinical tool for licensed mental-health professionals. To sign up, you must attest that you hold a current license to practice in the jurisdiction you list on your account. We verify licenses at our discretion and may suspend accounts that fail verification.
What Echo is — and isn't
Echo is a between-session support tool configured and overseen by you, the therapist. Echo does not diagnose, prescribe, or provide clinical judgment. Echo is not a replacement for therapy, for crisis services, or for emergency medical care.
You remain clinically and legally responsible for your clients. Echo is your instrument; you are the clinician.
Your responsibilities
You will configure Echo for each client with accurate, clinically appropriate settings. You will review conversations and respond to crisis alerts in a timely manner. You will not onboard a client to Echo without their informed consent.
Client safety
Echo includes a deterministic crisis-handling pathway. When a client's message contains language indicating risk of self-harm or harm to others, Echo serves a fixed safety template and flags the conversation to you. This is not a substitute for your own clinical assessment and timely response.
Billing
Echo offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. Subscription billing is handled by Stripe. You can cancel any time; on cancellation, access continues through the end of your paid period. Data retention after cancellation is 30 days by default.
Acceptable use
You will not use Echo to harm clients, to circumvent clinical judgment, or in any way prohibited by applicable law or your licensing body. We may suspend accounts that violate this section.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be emailed to account owners at least 30 days before taking effect.
